Isabel Rumble

invites listeners into a cocoon of reflection on the subtleties of love, nature and human relationships. Drawing upon a strong folk roots influence, Rumble offers a sound similar to Laura Marling and Lisa Hannigan, with nuanced vocals alongside acoustic guitar that create a space of open-hearted intimacy and connection. Isabel’s intuitively crafted songs define an observant and soul-stirring emerging young artist.

“captivatingly beautiful stories” - Franklin Folk Club

“maturity and sensitivity beyond her years” - Drumbeat magazine, Folk Federation of Tasmania

Growing up rurally on Yuin country on the far south coast of NSW gifted Isabel with a strong connection to the land, a theme returned to often in her songwriting. After a period of study in Naarm/Melbourne, Isabel has since lived beside Austrian alps, amongst Finnish forests and in the German countryside. She currently resides at the foot of the ancient mountain Kunanyi in Nipaluna/Hobart.

After time overseas in 2019/20 Isabel returned to Australia to release her debut EP Warm Wind. The home recorded, self produced project received the Folk Federation of Tasmania’s annual Songwriting award and the title track was shortlisted for the Australian Songwriters Association awards.

Already, 2022 has seen Isabel tour alongside Daniel Champagne, perform at Moonah Arts Centre’s “SHE”, at MONA as part of Tasmania’s renowned Dark Mofo, and at Junction Arts Festival.

Isabel is currently recording her debut album, with Tasmanian producer Luke Plumb (The Mae Trio, Ruth Hazleton), set to be released in early 2023.
